Why smart, independent and successful women are still single?

Four days before valentine's day my boss asked me why I didn't remind him of this upcoming special occasion because he needs to prepare and celebrate with his wife.

My answer was, how can I remind you when It's not in my thoughts to celebrate because I don't have a date. And he started laughing.

So I came up with these three P's that answers the question why.

1. Priority. I think this is one of the major reasons why i am still single. This year, I clearly told myself not to get involved in any kind of relationships, because I need to focus on my priorities which is my health, career, finances, my relationship with God and the most important people in my life, my family.

"A busy, vibrant, goal-oriented woman is so much more attractive."

2. Patience. Truth is, sometimes i feel a little bit frustrated but feelings change and we have control over it so I go check my priority list and change my focus. Don't allow your emotions to control you, keep calm and wait for the right man.

"Don't rush into a relationship. Work on yourself first."

3. Prepare. Instead of feeling frustrated, be grateful and embrace the status of being single because you have more time to prepare for the awesome love life you have dreamed of. Take good care of yourself, don't compromise and discover yourself.

"While you are waiting for God to send love your way, take some time to prepare."

Remember, life is too short to waste your time investing in the wrong relationship. Keep calm and love yourself first.

Allowing Others to Perform Kindness

On a Wednesday night, I went straight to Naif area right after work.

A friend of mine advised me to buy fabrics in there as they have very good pricing.

It’s actually my first time to visit the place. So I asked our driver to drop me near the fabric stores.

It was so crowded and the road is very busy. A lot of Pakistanis and Indians you can see everywhere.

When I finally arrived on my destination, I was surprised that the whole street was selling fabrics.

I started checking each store and I haven’t found what I was looking until I reached the 7th store.

I was welcomed by 2 young Pakistanis, probably in their 20's.

As I was checking the fabrics, this one guy came to assist, his name is Abdul Manal.

I was joking asking him for a discount for each yard he is cutting and he simply answered, sure.

He was very patient, I never heard him complain as I was buying in retail.

After deciding and choosing the fabrics, I didn't bother to negotiate with the other guy in the counter, considering their situation and their income.

The guy in the counter name is Abdul Salam. The total bill was 67 dirhams, he told me to pay only for 65 Dirhams.

I insisted and said "No, it's ok, I will pay the full amount and you can buy chai (tea) with 2 dirhams.

Abdul Salam was happy giving me discount at the same time telling me to go back in their store for future purchases.

I didn't insist anymore and just allowed him to win kindness.

I was too excited to fit the fabric after making the pattern.

Two years ago, I wished to be exactly where I am now.

It has been a great accomplishment and I'm still overwhelmed that I already completed my first contract.

Time flies so fast! Two years has just passed since I came in Dubai and got employed.

I feel so blessed, overjoyed and grateful as I reflect in the last two years of my existence here.

God has been so generous and kind to me as everything went smooth and manageable from passing the immigration interview, from job employment to promotions, from the preparation of the coming of my sisters up to their safe arrivals.

Thank you SIGN WORKS! Thank you, Lord!

Thank you, Lord, bigtime! for the learning experiences I've had in the past two years which helped me grow in professional and personal level and in different areas of life - health wise, career wise, self- management, money management, growing spiritually and emotionally.

Thank you, Lord, for the people you surrounded me, from all the circles of my beautiful family and friends, who influenced me, encouraged me and helped me to become a better version of myself

Thank you, Lord, for the courage, the gift of discipline, and the wisdom you have given me. The discipline of self- management especially. Knowing my priorities in life, where to invest my time and having a clear vision on what I really want and the courage to take a step and challenge myself to pursue my passion and perform at my best.

Thank you, Lord, for the support, kindness and consideration of my colleagues especially to my wonderful employer. I am blessed to be in this position and grateful to be trusted on how I operate.

Thank you, Lord, for the mentors who inspire me and made an impact in my life. Truly, mentors are like angels, they are there to guide and push us to the right direction.

Thank you, Lord, for the great health and great sense. I firmly believe that health is the greatest wealth. It is the greatest gift we receive every day!

Thank you, Lord, for your unfailing love, grace and generosity, for your patience and understanding Lord, despite of how many times we fail to obey you, but still you continue to bless us and always want to prosper us.

Lord, thank you for intervening my plans and for taking control over of me. All of these accomplishments is for your honor and glory. You are amazing Lord! I am pleased that I am exactly where I wish to be 2 years ago.

Indeed, Lord, you have blessed me so I can be a blessing to others too. :)

The Beauty of Growing Old : Bente Quatro

It's never too late to share my thoughts, learnings and realizations when I turned 24 last July.
Sometimes I get so overwhelmed to write about something that is beneficial. So today, I decided to start writing it down and I'm glad to share it with you.

What is the beauty of growing old? Ask yourself, what are the lessons you learned that helped you grow emotionally, spiritually and financially? ( Take a few moments and think..)

For me, the older I get,

...the more I take care of myself

...the more I realize the value of time and where to invest it

...the more I make time to build a stronger relationship with my family

...the more I seek and trust God

...the more I take full responsibility of my own decisions and actions

...the more I appreciate the little things

...the more beautiful I become (that's affirmation.hehe)

...the more I make time for self-improvement, development, for my personal and professional growth.

...the more I care for people that is true and matters to me.

...the more patient I become, less aggressive and more assertive

...the more I align my values with my actions

...the more I love my self and accept my imperfections

The secret is really simple, get clearer and more specific with your goals. Stay focused and commit yourself to achieve that goal.Always remember to ask guidance from God, do your best and he will do the rest!

Life is more beautiful when you realize that, the older you get, the better person you become.

Thank you, Lord, you have blessed me beyond what I have dreamed of at this age.
Palangga mo gd ko Lord ya :)

God promoted me, not only once but twice...

Yes, Lord, I know it is your will!

God promoted me faster than I ever imagined.

God has promoted me not only financially but also emotionally and spiritually.

It feels great, amazing and overwhelming!

I started working as a Receptionist, after 6 months, I jumped into Sales and Logistics Coordinator.

And in my first year of service, and without any expectation, God made me one of the most trusted employees.

God promoted me at the right time.

He knew that I have to support my mom and my sister.

He knew that I am not only working for myself but also for my family.

God knew my struggles and sacrifices, He is my judge.

My life is a testimony of God's goodness and mercy.

So I am sharing with you how did it happened so suddenly.

And I think some of them you already know, consider this as a reminder, so here's HOW:

1. Educate yourself. Know what you need to know, be curious and think like a student who is always willing to learn.

"When you know better, you do better." ~ Maya Angelou

2. Practice makes perfect. Yes! you know it. An hour a day to do what you think is beneficial to your health, career, and happiness. It can be reading, writing, meditating or singing.

"Excellence is a habit, not an act. It takes practice and perseverance. " ~ Victoria

3. Smile a lot and be kind to everyone. From laborers to your bosses and clients. Yes! It makes a big difference. It changes your mood instantly.
"A smile is the shortest prayer of gratitude we can offer to God."

4. Be grateful to every circumstance. We all struggle to become better every day. Complain less, God has a solution to every problem and nothing last forever. So thank God for the experiences and another day for being alive.

"If it's good, it's wonderful, if it's bad, it's experience. Be thankful anyway, for every circumstances is teaching us a lesson."

5. Serve with all your heart. That's the attitude of service. Not for the human masters but for the Lord. Helping creates a happy feeling.

"Often, the answers to our prayer does not come while we're on our knees but while we're on our feet serving the Lord and serving those around us." ~Dieter F. Uchtdorf

Tourist Visa: Philippine Immigration Interview

A continuation of my previous post, "Amazing Dubai: How did I get here?"

When I was preparing for my Dubai plan, the immigration interview was one of my major concerns.

As for some people, it's one of the hardest parts of the plan execution.

We jumped for joy when receiving our tickets and visas, but when we already about to get onboard for our trip,

we get frustrated if we get offloaded because of failing the immigration interview.

So, l am sharing with you the few questions asked to me during the interview.

 1. Who are you going to visit in Dubai?

2. How are you in relation to her?

3. What is your degree? Which school did you graduate?

4. How long is your stay in Dubai?

5. Are you currently working right now? What is your job and where? Do you have any plans leaving your job here?

6. When is your return date?

It doesn't sound scary, right? What I mean is, you can answer the questions right away if you just come prepared and reviewed your documents.

So, here's my advice:

1- Come prepared.   You already spent too much for your visa and ticket, so why not prepare your answers for the interview? PRACTICE. Write it down!

" By failing to prepare you are preparing to fail. "— Benjamin Fanklin

2- Take Vitamin C - "Confidence" and confidence will only come when we are prepared.

" One important key to success is self-confidence. An important key to self-confidence is preparation. " - Arthur Ashe

3- The eye to eye contact. Don't forget this important tip when having interviews. As we know it, the interviewer will determine how sincere you are with your plans when you focus your attention to them.

" Effective eye contact with the interviewer conveys confidence, enthusiasm and trust. " - Chicago Tribune

4- Dress for success. Remember, first impression always last. And you know it, looking good actually boost your confidence.

" It is always better to be over-dressed than under-dressed in an interview. " But not over-exposed.

5- Pray Hard. Only God knows the desires of your heart. When he knows you are prepared and ready, he will surely make your dreams come true. Miracle happens when you believe. Have faith!

" Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart." - Proverbs 37:4

All the best for your plans. Always do your best coz you'll never know if you'll get a second chance. THANK YOU! :)

Amazing Dubai. How did I get here?

" Dreams are good for the soul. So, dream big dreams! "

We all have dreams and goals that we'd love to achieve in life. Sometimes, living or working abroad is just one that we desire the most.

God made my dreams come true with the help of the beautiful people in my life. My cousin, Jerryvic, was my sponsor and I am thankful to God that she is here and has been working for nearly a decade now.

I believe God can make things possible for you too, my dear reader If you just believe in yourself and believe that God always want you to be in a better place.

So I am sharing with you how did I got here so suddenly, 6 months after I graduated.

I have listed 3 options I know for your information:

A. Relative Sponsorship. 90% Guaranteed, 10% rejected, for the reason that they don't know what to answer in the immigration interview or lack of preparation/ briefing.

Advantage. Quick and easy. From processing of sponsorship to job hunting, a relative will support every need. In most cases. :)

Disadvantage: Your attitude problems. I'm talking to yourself, how willing you are to find a job and be patient in every step of your journey to success.

B. Through Agency. Just like investment, investigate first. Unfortunately, I don't know any company but I have friends who came here thru agency..

Advantage: Fast and easy way. No need to worry about immigration interview

Disadvantage: They will have a share in your salary. Maybe 15-20%.

C. Direct Hire. The more resume you send, the more chances of getting noticed. Sadly, only 5% guarantee out of 100. the more chances of getting noticed.

Advantage: Quick Visa, sometimes, the ticket is also provided by the employer. No need to worry about immigration interview

Disadvantage: Expect a lesser salary.

Here we go, my only option is the first one (A), so please go through below. Keep reading, fill your mind with this information and I guarantee you will feel determined to achieve your dreams. It's really fast and simple, you just need the willingness to act and prepare yourself.

Requirements:

1- Passport - http://www.passport.com.ph/requirements

2- Birth Certificate - Since my cousin's father and my father are brothers, I have prepared 4 Birth Certificates.- Since my cousin's father and my father are brothers, I have prepared 4 Birth Certificates.

2.1 - My Birth Certificate

2.2 - My father

2.3 -My Cousin

2.4 - My cousin's father

3- Red Ribbon Documents (Transcript of Records & Diploma for college graduates, for undergrads - no need to process.)(Transcript of Records & Diploma for college graduates, for undergrads - no need to process.)

For red ribbon processing, DHL made it simpler for me.

Step 1 - Request for the original TOR and Certificate of graduation from your school registrar's office. It must be sealed in an envelope when handed over to you.

Step 2- DHL will send your docs to CHED for authentication, processing will take 5-7 days max. Initial Payment was around 800+ pesos.

Step 3-  After the docs have been authenticated from CHED, DHL will call you as you have to sign the papers for UAE Embassy submission. Processing will take 10-15 days max, payment was around 2000+ pesos.

Total No. of Days of Processing = 22 days max

Total DHL Processing Fee = 3000 pesos max

4- Affidavit of Support. The sponsor must be the one to process this document. Processing will take 10 days max. Processing Fee was only 100 dirhams. Please click on the link below for more information.

http://abudhabipe.dfa.gov.ph/index.php/site-administrator/press-release/121-new-requirements-for-issuance-of-affidavit-of-support-effective-august-10-2014.

*Please note that once the affidavit of support is released, usually the agency will do the needful to send thru courier express(DHL or LBC) together with the visa and tickets. Depending on the package you choose.

*In most cases, booking of tickets and applying for a visa is processed at the same time. In my example below, my cousin applied for my sister's visa and forgot that she's married and that she's using a different surname and it took 3 days to update the information.

To give you a clear picture, I am sharing with you the itinerary when we prepared for my sister's coming.

  • September 01 - Applied for Affidavit of support
  • September 11- Affidavit released
  • September 18 - Ticket booked
  • September 21 - Visa Applied
  • September 23 - Documents Received from Dubai to PH (Affidavit of Support, Visa and Roundtrip Ticket)
  • September 25 - Flight schedule

I hope you find this simple, clear and informative. To be continued... Immigration Interview Q&A. :) Signing off.. Goodnight and God bless!

I am open for suggestions and comments. I will not entertain nonsense questions and will immediately delete violent reactions. Lol! Keep calm and count your blessings! It feels good to share.. Thank you, Lord!
